Because this is a writing site, I or other contributors may at some point address erotic writing. Although I do not use or recommend online porn — and it definitely is not the purpose of this site — I consider an intellectual discussion about erotic writing to be a legitimate use of a writing-oriented site. So if you’re under 21, for heaven’s sakes make SURE your parent or guardian approves your reading this site and/or participating in the comments, because this site may at some point contain references to “adult” topics in writing. If you’re 21 or older, then you’re a grownup who can make that decision for yourself; if you have a delicate constitution, you can always click to a different site. I don’t really expect erotic writing to become a major part of this site, but I thought you would want to understand this up front.

Your Comments, Contributions, and Use of This Site

I wholeheartedly welcome your comments and participation in this site! But I do have a few ground rules:

  • No flaming (insulting each other or me).
  • No offensive or degrading language directed at me or others, including (but not limited to) topics such as racism. Please notice the “directed at” qualifier. It’s acceptable to have an intelligent discussion of sensitive and potentially painful topics such as racism as a component of a fictional character or plot, but it’s not acceptable for us to hurt each other.
  • No gratuitous and offensive swearing. I’ve been known to drop the occasional blue word, but let’s keep such to a minimum. You’re creative — so use that creative vocabulary if you’re expressing frustration with your computer, your progress on a story, or your muse.
  • No submitting of copyrighted or trademarked material to this site unless you are the sole owner of such and you are granting permission for its use.
  • No plaigiarism.
  • No negativism for its own sake; if you believe that you must be critical, ensure that your comments are constructive. Comments like “You’re an idiot” are far more likely to get deleted than comments like, “I’m disappointed in your shallow analysis of plot. Let me recommend some resources you can use the next time you post on this topic.”
  • No spamming people who post to this site! No harvesting of their e-mail addresses for your commercial purposes!
  • No violation of this site’s copyright or Creative Commons License (see my front page for details). This web site is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 United States License.

Privacy
I will not collect, sell, or divulge for profit any of your private information, including IP address, e-mail, etc. unless you provide your consent (which I do not envision needing or requesting) or unless I am compelled to do so by applicable laws. However, the Internet is a public place, and for your own privacy I strongly advise you to carefully consider your posting of any any personal information (such as name, phone number, address, etc.) if you wish to keep that information private. If you do choose to make your private information public, you must assume the consequences of doing so. Please just use some discretion — you never know who is reading anything you post online. I would be greatly saddened if any of my commenters or posters were to be harassed by another reader or spammers.

Consequences of Violating Any Part of These Terms of Service

Although I don’t assume any obligation to do so, I reserve the right to block access to this site or to edit or delete comments or guest posts that violate any of my terms of service. Those who violate laws or who post comments indicating they have done so may be reported to the proper authorities.
