Sweatin’ to the 100K
Posted on 08 July 2007
Oh me oh my — I just committed my slacker self to the Seventy Days of Sweat writing challenge at Alison Kent’s Blah Blog, and I’m so excited. I’ll be writing at least 1,500 words a day for the next 70 days, a marked uptick in my previously slothful writing pace. That time period includes a week’s business trip and another week of family vacation at Disney, so I think I’m going to shoot for a slightly higher daily word count if I find that’s doable. (Um, that’s 1,785 words, to be exact.) If that bar’s a bit too high, I’ll stick with the 1,500 words and will just be lugging my laptop along to keep up the pace. (No biggie — my family is WAY used to my geeky eccentricities anyway. And I never travel for more than a day or two without my laptop!)
Although I read both blogs, I discovered this event through the latest post at author Diana Peterfreund’s excellent writing blog, which also recently had another eye-poppingly good post — about plotting processes. Looks like I’m going to need it!
Wish me luck. The count starts … TODAY! (Must make a note to post my cumulative word count at Alison’s blog on Wednesdays and Sundays.)
UPDATE: New post on this topic, here.
